Anyone recommend a budget mascara for really sensitive eyes?

Title says it all really- I had laser surgery a few years ago and my eyes get sore, itchy and feel irritated whenever I wear any eye make up. I have really dark eyes and lashes so I don't need to wear it but we're going to a wedding next week and I'd love to splurge a bit.
Any ideas? (non budget-busting if possible!)

my eyes water a lot with eye make up, i found the rimmel waterproof range was good and didnt irritate

Thanks for the tips, I can easily get hold of both of those brands so is worth a try. They don't really water, just feel uncomfortable and like they've got something in them[weird]

I followed recommendations on here and got blinc mascara but it's about £15.

My lashes aren't quite as full as they were with other brands but it really does stay on.

I have really watery eyes and usually by lunch-time it's all worn-off or been picked off by me.

I have been to a gym class this evening and work all day and it's still perfect.

i wouldn't wear anything else - it doesn't flake at all and so my eyes don't water anymore (added bonus is the eyeliner doesn't run now).

Mine felt like that too Haylstones but watered with it.

i actually prefer the rimmel mascara to the benefit bad gal waterproof one

it smears and feels greasy

Maybelline Greatlash - not expensive, and doesn't crack up into beastly black chunks and make your eyes sore & dry

Tesco one here too, the ones hanging in cellophane packets. I have an extremely tender eye and not a jot of bother with this mascara.

lou33 · 14/05/2009 20:00

for some reason i read that as saying you had your eyes hanging in cellophane bags!

Lol. I tried a Meybelline one and didn't like it at all but maybe it was just that one- bright pink packaging?
I will try Tesco as there are about a gazillion nearby!

i found the maybelline great lash underwhelming

catinthehat2 · 14/05/2009 20:18

KM - thanks v much for the offer kind lady I do appreciate it but won't take you up on it, thank you.

Hayl - yes it is the pink one with the green top.

TheOtherMaryPoppinsDiets · 15/05/2009 08:05

lol Lou33, that's probably the only thing my poor eye hasn't been through!

Great Lash is a fab colour but it doesn't make my lashes "GREAT" by any means

Almay (available at boots)
