Hair lice treatment suitable for use with hair extensions?

I had hair extensions fitted last week (Racoon) and had my son come home today with a letter from school informing us of a head lice problem in his class.

Now, if the lice strike in my house, and on my head, are there any particular treatments that are safe to use with extensions?

The (expensive) comb option that gives the lice an electric shock would seem tobe an option. Is there a problem washing your hair when you have extensions? Can´t you just apply the lice treatment to your own hair as normal?

I would think (but cannot be sure) that Hedrin would be fine to use. It forms a skin and suffocates the little blighters rather than penetrating the hair or poisoning them.

I second Hedrin, as it's a method not reliant on fine combing.

hi I do extensions and I would be careful about putting on hedrin as it is silicone based and could cause the bonds to slip and come out I would ask your extensionist for advice. Keep your hair tied back when near kids! but in 15 years of wearing extensions and 4 kids I have never had lice!

Would vamouse work its salt based I think
