Am looking for ideas for a couple of things and hoping you lovely lot can help.

  1. what do you take your lunch to work in?
  2. what is your work bag like? I need one big enough to hold an A4 file.
  3. Do you know where I can get some black, petite length, cigarette trousers from please?
  4. Can anybody find me a dusty pink nail varnish in a colour reminiscent of old ladies' pink silk slips please?
  5. Does anybody know where I can get a full (ie dress shaped rather than skirt shape) slip in black or grey silk?

Thank you!

Okay, I realise the last two may be rather too specific but surely somebody can help with the first three? Pretty please?

  1. Can't answer as don't work over lunch period.
  1. My work bag is a Mulberry Bayswater (I think). It has straps on the inside which allows you to alter the width of the bag. It is large enough to take A4 files. Have even used it as an overnight bag.
  1. Not classified as "petite" but Zara always have a range of cropped cigarette trousers which fit me as regular cigarette trousers (as I am short of leg )
  1. No idea but surely most ranges have this shade?
  1. Isn't this the kind of thing M&S stock? Otherwise somewhere like Rigby & Peller would be a good bet.

lots o slips from M&S

janeite · 11/05/2009 18:46

Thank you both. The M&S ones aren't silk though and I am feeling decadent.

Unfortunately M&S is more my budget than a Bayswater but I can dream.

Will look at cropped trews in Zara.

Any more please?

M & S used to do a bag which was almost identical to a Bayswater in either black or tan leather. Was v good quality and around £70 iirc (I bought it for my sis for Christmas 2 years ago but I am sure i have seen same style in there again this year.....will look for you).

janeite · 11/05/2009 19:04

Tries again here

On the nail varnish question, a few months ago I read how the doyenne of nails Marian Newman, customises nude nail varnishes for models, by mixing different colours together.

So, now I have my perfect colour, a mix of someones dusty pink and someones elses cream, just 2 random bottles I found in boots mixed together in a little jar until I got the shade I wanted.

Genius idea

janeite · 11/05/2009 19:29

Thank you. Never heard of that company - have you?

Sorry Macherie - crossed posts. How did you mix them? Sounds like a good plan as most of the ones I've seen are too light or too dark.

The Sulis Silk company? Nope. Just googled "silk slips".....amongst some of the dodgy-er links, there it was

janeite · 11/05/2009 19:32

Lol. Think I'd rather find one somewhere I've heard of. Off to look on Agent Provocateur.

I just used one of those little sample jars you get at mekeup counters, and put in a bit of one and a bit of the other, and adjusted until I got it right, then I use the brush from one of the bottles, cleaned with nail varnish remover to apply it.

janeite · 11/05/2009 19:39

Cool. Thank you. May well have a go at that!

Agent Provocateur slips = hideous and hideously expensive to boot.

Any more ideas for cigarette trousers or bags please? Or lunch-transportation?
