have been for my second session of laser hair removal on my lower legs. i cried and screamed much more than during my two deliveries. it was awful and only because the therapist kept me pinned down to the bed i managed to stay, at one point i was about to run off.

i really need this to work as i have horrible black hairs and suffer from ingrown hairs/fullicolitis, ok in the grand scheme of things this is just a minor complaint but it means i can't wear skirts in summer and at the beach everyone wants to know why my legs are covered in red angry blisters. i am from a mediterranean country so the beach plays a big part in my life.

anyway, anyone done this? does the pain get any easier? and most importantly, does it work permanently?

Hi. I have had laser hair removal on face (upper lip and chin) and I agree it hurts like hell. However it worked very well, esp on upper lip. however hormonal effects of pregnancy meant that some hairs came back but still happy with results. not bad enough to go back for more treatment.

I had a thread moaning about my hairy-ness last week and someone posted saying they had had laser hair removal and it worked. I can't do a link as I'm on my mobile but I'm sure I started the thread last friday morning in style + beauty, title was about not wearing skirts IIRC.

Didn't work for me - I had it on legs (but hairs are quite light there), underarms and bikini line. I was hopeful about it working on the bikini line (and if you think the legs hurt -try it there!). I got a really smooth patch on one side but after a few months it grew back. Didn't work at all on underarms either. After spending over 700 pounds and not seeing the results I abandoned it.
Apparently it all deoends on when in the hair growth cycle you are "zapped" - as it onoy works at one stage. But unfortunately there is no way to tell which stage your hair growth is at so it's very hit and miss .
