OK, I need you stylish ladies to help me.

I am getting all my hair cut off for charity. I think it will be about an inch from the scalp on the occasion.

Is there anything out there that will suit me for the early days afterwards? say from 6 weeks after when I may have something to work with?

My hair is very straight. I have an oval face and wear glasses.

TIA

God, are you sure you want to do this is my first reaction! I cut my hair really short last year, and I haven't stopped moaning about it since!

thisis a nice short cut or this, but in all honesty it will be months before you're able to 'do' something with it.

I admire your altruism, good luck!

yes i think i really want to do it.

i have had it with porridge in my hair. plus in my face and it spends 95% of its life tied up out of the way.

i like both. my hair is thick but fine. whicj=h of those 2 cuts would be better?

Aurdrey's hair is more like mine, thick and a bit wavy, winona's looks finer and straighter, so that might be better.

this is a lovely style, maybe something to aim for?

foxytocin · 10/05/2009 11:20

mine is quite straight and soft.

dh was stunned when i told him what i have in mind.

You're right, go for it, it grows back pretty quickly.

That last style would suit your hair, you might never have it long again

Wow foxytocin - what a great but also brave thing todo.

something funky like this?

this one is probably abit long for the early days?

another nice one

and another

Furball · 10/05/2009 12:03

another crop here

foxytocin · 10/05/2009 12:11

furball: the ads for straighteners above them scare me. i am scared of those things as v cack handed.

also i'm close to 40 and those models look 1/2 my age.

foxy, you're very pretty and would suit a pixie crop like posh had YEARS ago when she used to wear that white, pale blue and dark blue leather jacket.

what charity are you doing this for?

foxytocin · 10/05/2009 12:20

me and a friend will be doing it for an orphanage in the Democratic Republic of Congo. I am wondering if i can raffle off my hair and the winner donates it to be made into a wig. My hair is in v. good condition as i was blessed with 'good hair' genes. The proceeds of the raffle would go to a UK Charity which I haven't chosen yet.

Sounds like a really great cause.

Wow, wish I could afford your hair! I have frizzly thick mouse hair. Nobody would offer more than 25p for it! good luck to you. I bet you'll look great with short hair.
