OH MY GOD.

Amazing.

Kids down at 7pm, jumped in shower so that beauty therapist would not have to deal with sweaty smelly mother.

She arrived just before 7.30pm, set up table in living room, heated wax etc.

I'd paid for 2 hours (£90) when I made the booking so no awkwardness about giving her money or whatever.

2 hours later I have beautifully shaped brows, waxed legs, waxed bikini, pedicure and manicure.

And all without any annoying piped music or dimmed lights, with a glass of wine in my hand and a really lovely chat with a lovely girl.

And no need to leave my house (not that I object to leaving my house but dh works erratic hours in film industry and can never guarantee being home by a certain time, so appointment making can be a nightmare)

Am totally sold.

shhhh · 08/05/2009 21:55

TheCrackFox · 08/05/2009 22:01

What a good idea. Just googled and you can get something similar in Edinburgh.

Hmmm , I am going on holiday at the end of June.

BernardsCat · 08/05/2009 22:13

but god i want to LEAVE the house

LetThemEatCake · 08/05/2009 22:14

I researched it a bit by comparing what i was paying with the price lists of salons in my area and it's slightly more expensive, but so worth it. The shit fight of organising time for myself negates the enjoyment of the experience a lot of the time .. whereas right now I just feel great. And like a good mother to boot. What a winning combo!!

shhhh where are you based?

Im Northwest.

Yes, BC we all want to leave the house BUT sometimes thats not an option .

Ds has just been diagnosed with chickenpox and I have only been house bound for 1 day and already Im experiencing cabin fever .

Oh.........I lie..........I managed to get out to go..........to the docs... Whooo Hooo..!

LetThemEatCake · 08/05/2009 22:36

ohhh yes there are. Hmm...pamper ahoy me thinks..

LOL at your comment

LetThemEatCake · 08/05/2009 23:57

well honestly!! I am half-Indian, so a tad hirsute (it's in my ethnic DNA) and I used to hate leaving the salon looking like I'd been punched in both eyes after an eyebrow shape to tame my lurking monobrow.

The joy of not having to don huge sunglasses after an appointment!!

Could never hide the redness on my upper lip from tache-contol though .... oh the shame....

let us know if you book!

I know what you mean...I don't have "hairy" isschoo's BUT do feel a tad embarassed when participating in threading/brow colouring at the brow bar in selfridges.

Feel as though as soon as I get comfy a big sign/arrow comes above me saying "look at me"
