Those touche eclat thingies.....

This happens every time...how can I stop them smelling like dirty dishcloths? Once I start using one, after a few days they just stink....is it me??? I've just washed the brush bit in hot soapy water and it still pongs...

No, not you. I have the same issue. I have given up with touche eclat, as I think its overated and overpriced. The number 7 one I'm using now has the same type of brush but doesnt smell at all.

Stop sniffing it!

Have a Clinique version and can't say i've noticed a smell but will have a nose later now.

It's just the ingredients' smell surely though.

I cant say I have noticed the smelly brush thingy but just to let you know that ALDI do one. It's a silver pen with a brush and a clicker just like touche eclat and it comes in a light and a dark shade.

£2.99 I think - highly recommended.

Mine is the no7.....but still pongs..I think it happens because of makeup left on the brushy thing and then getting closed in again inside the cap....at the moment I've got it with the lid off, to dry out...
Thanks for replies- will definitely try the Aldi one next- sounds like my kind of price!

I had to chuck mine for the same reason. Apparently any make up or applicator starts to smell bad it means there's a build up of bacteria and you should bin it. I think they're not very hygenic as you put it directly on your skin (near your eyes) and then there's no way of washing it.

I often give mine a wipe with a baby wipe, haven't noticed that they smell, i've used ysl, clinique, aldi and the no7. Do you think it needs replacing if it smells? Mine is used alot so never lasts that long that it could go off.

Yep - they always stink of dirty socks! Secret Camouflage by Laura Mercier is good.
