I am fed up wearing jeans and trainers every day but am no good at picking what looks good on me. I always tend to go for the samee stuff.

I am 5"1, size 18, fairly busty and have quite big hips. Sound really attractive dont I???

I would like to wear more skirts but my legs rub together . HELP ME get a new wardrobe.

Thanks

what about slightly flared trousers (perhaps linen at this time of year)? -they might suit your figure. are you happy to show your arms or do you prefer long sleeved things? you could team the trousers with layered tops (jersey material perhaps). it's really hard to advise without knowing what you look like and also crucially your age!

I am 30 with redish curly hair. Does that help at all?

Get some of these?

Then you can wear skirts!

Bargainhuntingbetty - are you me?

I found some of Trinny and Susannah's diktats really did work for me -

ditch the jeans (pockets on the bum are v v unflattering) in favour of wide-leg or boot-cut trousers

go for longer-length tops or tunics to avoid any risk of flashing your muffin top

v-necks are best for those with huge norks a generous embonpoint

I think the only solution for thigh chafing is to wear very fine tights (I read a magazine article which recommended wearing cycling shorts under your skirt, but really?)

Have you got a department store near you with a personal shopper? Or a friend who'll be your personal shopper?

BigusBumus · 04/05/2009 20:21

What about cullottes? Or 3/4 length trousers? Wear with tunic style tops and a little cardi and funky birkenstocks (which come in a Narrow Fitting or those new fit-flops things.

or leggings under a skirt. and ballet pumps with your jeans will give you a more feminine look.

definitely worth taking a look at one of the Trinny and Susannah books, to get some tips on what works for your body type.

Still looking at the Evans website.. its amazing! I am a size 12 but would wear nearly all of that stuff - so much more grown up and "normal" than the teenage prozzie stuff availble from the rest of the high street. When i was a size 16 Evans was dreadful - have they got new designers and had a re-vamp, cos it looks great!
