Mid thigh tunics- where from?

FlyMeToDunoon · 03/05/2009 16:06

Ok so I have my leggings now and today I am wearing them with a dress but I cannot find those tunics to mid thigh that are necessary for the older woman in leggings.

Any suggestions apart from Primark and H&M which I don't have here.

What about Monsoon or Peacocks?

FlyMeToDunoon · 03/05/2009 16:40

Monsoon -expensive
Peacocks-not here.

Should have mentioned that I would like em cheap so that I can buy more than one.

I am finding that a lot of 'tunics' are really very short. Maybe I should go for short dresses instead.

fat face are usually good for this sort of thing?

mollyroger · 03/05/2009 16:41

Look in H&M for little (cheap!) dresses which look good with leggings

FlyMeToDunoon · 03/05/2009 16:45

Am thinking in the £15-£20 area.
Fat Face too expensive.

What size are you? There is this..

cgi.ebay.co.uk/BNWT-Betty-Jackson-Designer-Top-Tunic-Size-16-Must-See_W0QQitemZ150341755641QQcmdZVie wItemQQptZWomensClothing?hash=item150341755641&trksid=p3286.c0.m14&trkparms=66:4|65:1|39:1|240:1 318|301:1|293:1|294:200

Funnily enough though I have it in a size 12 and am putting it on ebay if you are interested..

indian shops will sell them, and they should be relatively cheaper

Zara had some in a while back, may be worth looking there. They were the same as the French connection ones (sleeveless, empire line, tie back, lots of different colours) only they were £15 instead of £49 I think. I am looking for the same thing though and not had much luck so far.

mrsruffallo · 03/05/2009 22:49

This is lovely

playftseforme · 03/05/2009 22:50

True true

except OP looking for sthg affordable

stitchtime · 04/05/2009 09:04

rupali online. but ethnic, but affordable.

DesperateHousewifeToo · 04/05/2009 11:24

Stitchtime, have you ordered from Rupali before. How do their sizes come out?

I love some of their clothes and like the fact that they have clothes for everyone and then......kitchenware

difficultdecision · 04/05/2009 12:16

rupali are quite generous sizing (or used to be) haven't ordered from there this year. Generally reasonable quality for a season's wear but don't expect it to last for years unless you wear it rarely.

FlyMeToDunoon · 04/05/2009 18:33

Rupali online look great. Not sleeveless understandably but worth a good look.
Thanks.

No offence but that Diane von Furstenburg one was atrocious. And madly overpriced.

OP posts:
stitchtime · 05/05/2009 10:29

i havent ordered from them for a few years now. maybe four?
at the time, i found their sizing very variable. i was a 14, and i think i ordered a medium in the tunics. they were fine, but the salwar kameez i ordered were not. the top was 14, but the bottom wasnt. however, the quality was acceptable. i think when i ordered, there was a sale on, and the nine pound tops were four and a half, so i ordered several. washed finein the washing machine, didnt have a tumble dryer at the time, so cant tell you about that...at six pounds i thought the delivery was a bit pricey, but i was happy with the stuff i got. iyswim.

there are a few other asianish sort of mail order companies like that, but i cant remember their names righ tnow. if i do, i will post. hth

Jux · 05/05/2009 11:47

I've been looking for similar stuff. Hope you don't mind me coming onto your thread! I like the Rupali things too.
