Please help me find more dresses like this one...

My mum recently bought me this dress which I love - the Liberty fabric, the cut and the fact that it's so easy and versatile to wear.

I would like a couple more of this ilk - please can you style savvy ladies help me find something similar (and perhaps a little cheaper)?

I am a size 8 and very flat-chested and so the fact that it's quite floaty works well as it gives me some curves.

Thanks in advance!!

I quite like this in the grey colour, would look great with a coral cardi that I've already got. Not quite sure about the linen aspect though - nightmare to keep wrinkle-free given that ironing is fairly foreign to me.

What are Great Plains sizes like?

If you like floral prints, have you thought of Cath Kidston ?

Barking · 03/05/2009 18:24

or Joules ?

dairymoo · 03/05/2009 19:43

I have Barking as I love her prints, but the dresses (and the Joules ones too, I think) seem to be cut for people with waists. Sadly not me, as I'm very straight up and down.

I am very pleased though as it seems Kew have done the dress I have in another (cheaper) fabric. It could look a bit nightie-ish, what do you reckon?

The shape works really well on me though so I might just order it and see...

this dress is truly lovely on! i feel if i don't buy it (despite having no occasion in which to wear it) I may regret it for a long time to come...

ibbydibby · 03/05/2009 19:53

I like
this one, which I am tempted to buy. Am also a size 8 and waistless - this dress has a really accentuated waist. Bit pricey though.

ibbydibby · 03/05/2009 19:56

By the way I tried on a Great Plains dress yesterday, am also size 8 and flat(ish) chested. The neck/shoulder area was huge on me. The dress I tried on was size xs - so presumably the smallest available.

dairymoo · 03/05/2009 20:00

Both v nice - I like the quirky print of the next one but would prefer the colour a but bolder. Good to know re: Great Plains...

bit, sorry

Have never been v impressed by what I've seen of Great Plains stuff. They seem to come up very big and the cotton often feels quite stiff and scratchy.

I really like that stripey Kew one: it looks a bit like an old man's nightshirt - but in a good way!

dairymoo · 04/05/2009 15:44

I've just been into Kew to try it but it's not in stock yet so have left my number for when it arrives. Know what you mean about the nightshirt resemblance - hope it'll be as comfy!

Oh I do hope you love it when it comes in. Will you let us know? I normally steer clear of Kew because it seems to be designed for leggy people with long arms.

dairymoo · 11/05/2009 13:14

Got the dress, like it and will wear it loads. Not quite as nice as the Lberty print one and could look a bit grandad with the wrong accesories but vvvv comfy and perfect for wearing while I waft about in the sunshine.

I have same figure, and have just bought the liberty print one - thanks for the tip!

There are good for sewing into busts of things: fake boobs

Does that other one not look like school uniform summer dress?

dairymoo · 11/05/2009 13:55

A bit! But I quite like it anyway. It's a tiny bit see-through too so I have worn it so far with a white vest and white skinny jeans (turned up) underneath. I wear a Gap green frilly skirt under the flowery one and TBH could use a white one for this dress...
