went shopping with friends yest and we split up for a bit so did not have anyones opinion on this jacket.

i normally cant stand new look and only popped in to look for some accesories when i spotted it, it was a bargain at £22 and i thought it would be handy for the mornings when its to hot for a coat but to cold to go without nothing.

anyway i got to the tills and handed it over and she smirked at me and asked if i was buying it for a neice

i told her no and asked if she thought it had come from the kids section, but she just carried on smirking

am i missing something, i am 26 years old but should i not be wearing this for any reason?

Why are you paying attention to a shop assistant? You can buy what you want. If you didn't, she wouldn't get paid.

brimfull · 02/05/2009 12:57

well it does look like something more suited for a tweenie

shavenhaven · 02/05/2009 13:01

i usually enjoys talking to the shop assistants.

it must be a long boring day if everyone ignores them.

well I personally dont like it but I think it is only the person wearing the clothes that has to like them

that reminds me I need to find my purple and blacks stripey tights I want to wear tonight

KingCanuteIAm · 02/05/2009 13:09

My dd has this jacket, I got it for her as they didn't have it in my size. If they had I would have got it for me, dd thought it would suit me too (although she was happy that she got it!) It is nice! Don't worry about the assistant, I am guessing she feels she knows all about clothes - after all who wouldn't if they work in new look

SoupDragon · 02/05/2009 13:10

"should i not be wearing this for any reason?"

Yes, because it's hideous.

IMO.

ShowOfHandsNoLongerKissesKunes · 02/05/2009 13:13

That's a spectacularly nasty item but if you like it then it shouldn't matter.

NervousNutty · 02/05/2009 13:14

Have to agree that I would have got if ro my 11yr old but not for myself.

shavenhaven · 02/05/2009 13:15

thanks

it does actually look good on (i think!!)

maybe it was her scraped back ponytail that just made it look like she was smirking

She has put you off?

You still bought it though.

TBH not to my taste at all but it would depend on your age and style as to whether it looks good or not, imo.

TrillianAstra · 02/05/2009 15:44

I don't like it. But if you do you should wear it.

It's not as if shop assistants in New Look are going to be the most stylish people ever, she was probably 15, liked it herself, and thought that anyone over 20 was too ancient to wear anything that 'cool'. (plus to a 15-year old 26 looks old, sorry)
