Hi first post here though have been studying for a while , I have a dress for a summer wedding but need shoes and bag help please:

dress

Looks awful on website but it is lovely on.

I thought these shoes that someone linked to on here before but not sure: shoes much more than I would normally spend but dress was a bargain.

Not a clue about a bag though.

Please help me I have had some great ideas from here
(Oh I worked out how to do links)

go for a bright yellow clutch!

available in yellow

shannie · 01/05/2009 13:32

Thanks for that, I think I like it. Would I get any wear out of it apart from the wedding ? What did you think about shoes, I am not sure if they'll be too high.

Bump up in case anymore ideas ? If I spent that much on the bag maybe less on shoes ??? Mass of indecision I know.

those shoes are a classic, you'll get loads of wear out of those - much better to economise on the bag, esp if you do opt for yellow (which I think you should, it will pick up on the yellow in the dress and make the whole outfit more 'fun')

Soo... other options for yellow clutches:

are here!

Like your choice of shoes

How about these which are similar but have a slingback, possibly bit more summery?
here
a bagthis

I did like the yellow clutch suggested by Letthemeatcake

shannie · 01/05/2009 18:55

Oooo I like them all, God I am hopeless. Only thing which might throw a spanner in the works is the dress has light green not yellow . . . Sorry would yellow be awful then ?

I am def going to buy the shoes now.

ooops, not a yellow clutch then.

just a black one. And if you are feeling at all gok-ish, buy a green or black feather brooch and stick it on the clutch.

In either case, lots of arm jewellery. Big gold bangles and cuffs, layer them up. Nothing on or near the neck, though.

shannie · 01/05/2009 20:18

I did wonder but thought maybe I really did not have a clue. Ok what black clutch then, any ideas ? I do love the Reiss one but too much £££.

Where would I get a feather brooch ?

I have lost it a bit style wise recently, heavier than I would like to be so been hiding.

Thanks for help and Clure you too

feather brooches here

black clutch but poss too small?

might be better, less detailing on the bag too, don't want to overdo it if you're going for the feather

plus these earrings - they're a decent copy of an Alex Monroe pair that cost 20x as much

and then take your pick from a variety of the gold bangles on this page, but check out Primark too as they will have a few cheaper ones that you can mix in

LetThemEatCake · 01/05/2009 20:37

definitely this one!! fabulous!!

in fact, forget the stacked-up chunky look - just buy one of these for each arm and then add on a few of these to each

shannie · 01/05/2009 21:02

Job done then Thanks a million x

LetThemEatCake - you have a good eye for what goes with what! I looked at the asos clutch too. Also loved your accesorize jewellery suggestions. Shannie enjoy your day!

Back again. Just bought the shoes from LK Bennet and thanks to EldonAve I got 15% off.

Looking at bags again and wondered if something like this would be too much for the dress www.monsoon.co.uk/invt/48965503&bklist=icat,5,shop,accessorize,alleveningbags,clutchbags

Sorry can't get link to work properly hope you can see it.
