Maybe this should be in the ebay section but.... what colour would you describe this skirt as?

pic in my profile.... what colour is it?

just got it in the post and it doesn't quite match the pic

I'd say it was beige, from the pic..
what colour is it really?

EldonAve · 30/04/2009 12:17

looks natural but it's hard to judge with the lighting tbh

PinkTulips · 30/04/2009 12:34

bright white with black flowers

was wondering if it was just me ut it is a shitty pic right?

tempted to say something in the feedback but in the bit at the top with the details under colour it does say b&w but she hasn't said that in the item description and both pics look the same beige colour.

bugger... wonder if it would take dye well?

I think it does look bright white with black (and grey) flowers, I think its just a dark photo.

paddingtonbear1 · 30/04/2009 13:42

ah! It doesn't look white to me, but I have found this before - depending on the lighting where the photo was taken, some colours can look quite different.

MerlinsBeard · 30/04/2009 13:44

so the description said it was white, you looked and thought it was beige and bought it thinking it was beige? is that right? Did you ask what colour it actually was- that photo is appalling so i think i would have checked

PinkTulips · 30/04/2009 14:06

nope, i didn't notice the bit at the top said white... yes i know, stupid and totally my responsibility to have checked but it just didn't occur to me that the photo was lit badly, if you know the skirt is white it looks awful but if you think you're looking at a beige skirt on a paler background it honestly looks like a good pic!

see what i mean

abi... no grey flowers, just black

ah feck it... yes i know, me being stupid and clicking 'bid now' without looking properly

100% cotton though, think i might dye it red.......

Def black and white on the listing as well with that close up picture. Its nice.

blametheparents · 30/04/2009 14:33

Wow, it does look anything like white in the main picture.
But the description says white.
Think you might have to live with it

Fimbo · 30/04/2009 14:36

The picture isn't good but I kind of guessed it would be white and black.

PinkTulips · 30/04/2009 15:03

see, this is what i get for doing my online shopping too late at night

it's nice but i don't ever look good in white, it's just not a colour that suits me tbh.

darn it, bought it for a wedding i'm going to in june for the night before the wedding, they're having a meal. just can't see myself wearing it tbh but not sure i can be arsed setting up a sellers account on ebay to resell it! can't hook up my camera to this pc anyway so would have to use the same crappy pic which would just feel wrong.

The only problem with dyeing it a very different colour is that while the skirt may be 100% cotton, it's unlikely that the thread will be, so you risk being left with white stitching round the hem and waistband (and I speak from experience!). If I was going to dye it I'd go for pale grey or something.

PinkTulips · 30/04/2009 15:16

ooo, grey sounds nice actually.

is it tricky to do at home? >>

wotulookinat · 30/04/2009 15:17

looks white to me in the second photo

Bramshott · 01/05/2009 08:53

No - you do it in the machine. Super easy! Dylon machine dye, available from hardware shops and supermarkets.

PinkTulips · 01/05/2009 14:46

cool.... will try and find some of that.

tried it on and it fits perfectly and is a lovely shape but white definitely doesn't suit me!

Good luck!

You can add less than the whole pack for a paler shade I think.
