Work capsule wardrobe

I'm going back to work soon after a year's maternity leave and I'm feeling sick about it already - I thought a few new clothes would make me feel better/more confident about the whole thing.

I (obviously!) don't want to spend a fortune, so what should be in my smart capsule wardrobe?!

I struggle with the idea of dresses/skirts as I hate wearing tights and I don't have good enough legs to be barelegged (I have horrible bobbly translucent skin and am the palest person in the universe - that fake tan moisturiser stuff just makes me look an odd colour).

Hope you're happy with the skirt DM!

Anyone got suggestions for tops then? I'm really needing help to avoid the v-neck options.

I love Zara for work stuff (and other stuff). They always have fairly classic colours and shapes with a bit of interesting detail and their prices are not too ridiculous either (for the Zara basics anyway). They always have nice material too - not all polyestery.
