We wore drindle skirts made of poplin or gingham, a blouse and hand knit socks and cardigans. Startrights on feet. Ribbon in hair.
Nylon anorak to finish the whole ensemble !
I'll see if there are any links out there.

Where is the rally? I have a Morris too.

Mine is still in bits - well the doors are but I'm working on getting it finished soon. She is a 1960 model just like me!

I took the seat out and moved the seat groove holdery things forward then screwed them back in. Anyone taller than me would be squashed when driving.
It is the estate version. I love it.

cheesesarnie · 28/04/2009 10:08

i love that theres a fellow morris minor lover on here!

good idea about moving seat, although im unsure dh would agree!

There's been an exhibition on kids' clothing over the years at the V&A Museum of Childhood in east London. Not sure if it's still on but you might find some good pics on their website.

In summer, boys tended to wear a t shirt but tucked into shorts. White ankle socks and a woolly pullover. Hair like Peter Mandelson.

thanks-will look at site!
boys sounds good-or do-able.
