Tomato sauce Boden dress - what colour shoes? Important as it's the 10th Anniversary Night OUt!

tomato sauce dress with white spots, no sleeves. Considering a matching red cardy.

Red heels? is the colour matching too tricky?

Can't really think what other colour would go?

In my defense - had feet operated on recently so I can, for the first time in my life, wear fashionable shoes. I'm utterly clueless at matching shoes with rest of outfit (it used to be trainers all the way!!)

I would wear white shoes.

for a knee-length dress is it better to have a heel? Would pumps look totally frumpy?

Not red heels as you may look like Minnie Mouse.

I would go for nude shoes, get them in a similar colour to your skin and they have the added bonus of making your legs look very long.

I am not keen on white shoes because they can look quite cheap, even if they are expensive shoes. There is something very Tracey from Basildon about them.

It depends on the type of shoe, there are some really beautiful flat shoes now, you don't need to look frumpy. However I would go for a heel personally.

If you were to do white shoes be careful - go for a white / cream satin rather than leather to avoid the Essex effect.

How about some sparkly shoes instead - along these lines. Not sure what height of heel you're after but there are loads of sparkly strappy sandals around at the moment.

Almost exactly the same but higher

I just DARE you to do it!

Sorry, that last one wasn't helpful (although I note there is a matching handbag!).

I love these though - Very elegant

I haven't seen the dress but purple and red is nice

PolkSaladLucie · 27/04/2009 20:10

Will you be wearing any jewellery? I think nice silver or gold pumps, or flat sandals can be pretty and comfy! I quite often wear sandals like these with dresses in the evening and get lots of compliments...

Can you do a link to your dress?
