A friend of mine has just had her chin-length hair permed. She is the first friend to have a perm in years, almost decades.

Are they back? Are we all going to go around looking like Kevin Keegan soon?

I used to have my long hair permed in 1983,and have had a few since then.Mine have always been ok,never too dry,too curly or caused damage to my hair.

It is possible to have a good perm IMO.

Just steer clear of "Poodle Perms" and "Junior's" Neutralising the perm,as they do this too early or too late, and the perm is ruined.

I was at Uni in 88, so lots of booze too, I thought I looked bloody great [sad, deluded individual emoticon], and was very popular in the SU bar!!! We used to drink snakebite and black/pints of Flowers beer/a drink which consisted of double vodka, double tia maria and milk. Crikey
