Where do you go to get a cheap-mid range dress to wear to a wedding when you have exhausted the usual suspects - Monsoon, Coast,. Phase Eight - and can't find anything you like?

Have you looked in Warehouse? They sometimes have nice stuff in. Or more expensive but Whistles? Great plains?

Having said that I am having a similar issue and wondering if maybe the summer wedding stuff isn't in the shops yet.

Karen Millen? what's mid-range? Under £100? I think KM is over £100.

Oi, didn't you just buy FOUR new dresses the other week??? Won't any of them do?

what's your budget? 'Cos I bought this for a wedding last summer and it looked pretty darn good (it looks a bit shapeless in the pic but is actually very pretty, forgiving on a tummy if you have one - you've had baby relatively recently haven't you?

Wore it with the tan version of these sandals

It's been a great dress since, too - good for lunches with the girls, informal dinners etc.

French Connection?

Untold at House of Fraser?

Zara?

What sort of dress do you fancy?

squeaver · 27/04/2009 08:13

I'd say Zara

Or Debenhams

Kew - they've got some pretty dresses in at the moment in liberty fabric which could be dressed up or down.

Hobbs
Topshop (seriously - some nice things there)
Toast (or occasionally Boden have a nice dress) - in the sale if poss

Right, thanks to all who have replied so far!

I'd like to get away with spending under £100, but will go up to about £150 at a push.

The dresses I got are all a bit casual@LetThemEatCake. I want something really dressy and wedding-ey.

Going to look at suggested websites now. Thanks!

Do try Kew. I just boughtthis. It is beautiful on. There were a couple of other dresses in there that I really liked and I am very fussy about dresses.

If you want really smart I do think Karen Millen is worth a look and I am so not a KM type of person - I bought a lovely dress there once and their things are very very well cut.
