Black Shift Dress - where?

I need a new decent black shift dress for work. Sleeveless. To the knee - I am only 5'4. I can't find a decent one anywhere.

Suggestions please!

would M&S not be good? haven't looked, but would imagine that they'd fit the bill...?

Why is it so difficult to find the simplest things? I also think clothes are getting very expensive - I used to be able to guess the prices of things on hangers. I looked at a dress today and thought about £150 - it was £350 (but looked worth £30!!!)
