I bought a very plain black dress as I liked the fit, but it is very plain. I am thinking of ways to jazz it up abit, I am not that great at sewing but want to give it a go.

Has anyone got any easy ideas to make it more stylish?

I was thinking of sewing beads onto it or a fancy scarf. Any ideas welcome....

Gok-tastic!! get thee to a haberdashery store!

what shape is the dress?

beads are time consuming in some cases but can add some nice sparkle.

forgot to add that i nearly always make additions or alterations to clothes i buy.

Doesn't look particularly boring to me, I would probably just wear it with a jazzy necklace. If I was going to do anything I would put some beads on the waist.

Actually gok is where I got the idea..

I am thinking about maybe just putting it with a nice belt and necklace as I need to wear it tomorrow, but I have always wanted to be able to alter my clothes as I hate having the same as everyone else.

well it is not exactly the same as that one and is black, I think its just because I dont really like wearing all black, as that makes me feel boring...
