Think that they do help tone you up a bit, I got a pair a couple of summers ago but didn't show them to dh as couldn't be bothered with the ridicule Anyway, after a month or so of just wearing them when out and about with dd during the week he commented about how toned my legs and bum were looking. Still had to put up with jokes about orthopaedic shoes but at least he couldn't say they didn't work!

I also have problem with back pain and find that wearing them eases it.

Not sure about actually having them as a flip flop substitute as you do have to break them in gradually as you'll get really sore muscles if you wear them for too long at first. Also as much as I love mine I do think they're quite ugly, I only ever wear mine with cropped jeans/trousers as a quite sporty look, don't think they look great with dresses or skirts no matter how they are dressed up with sequins etc.

Are they comfortable? I tried a couple of pairs on yesterday and they seemed really harsh around the toe bit. I also saw a woman on the tube on Tuesday who was wearing some with plasters on her toes! Do you have to do something to them to make them wearable?

I love mine! very comfy for long days on your feet but it did take a week or so of wearing them in (I had plasters too!!)not so sure about the toning aspect though, think this may be a bit of marketing hype myself!

Just had a look on their website - not to my taste (but then no shoes ever are but at least theu look 100 times better than crocs! Not convinced about the health benefits though
