sheer "flesh" -coloured tights - yes or no?

First up, "flesh coloured" sounds so awful, I don't mean american tan or anything orangey - but I favaoauar the decent quality sheer tights that make my legs just look a bit more polished as it were (and less glo-white).

My friend has a violent dislike to flesh-coloured and says women should only go for dark sheer tights - a bit like Sarah Brown here I guess. I think they look weird, particularly on the foot, they just don't seem to work.

Over to you ladies, flesh-coloured tights, yes or no?

I don't like dark, sheer tights: I think they look a bit 'cheap' tbh. Good quality neutral coloured matt tights are nice at this time of year I think. I like M&S 'Illusion' which are just the right colour for my pale legs. They make my legs look like mine but a bit better.

Yes from me but they would have to be as undetectable as possible - like these

mrsmaidamess · 23/04/2009 19:51

Either opaques or fake tan.

badgermonkey · 23/04/2009 19:52

I think they're fine - the times when you would wear them, nothing else is really appropriate (apart from very smooth bare legs, probably with a bit of fake tan). Black sheers are minging - I have a couple of pairs and hate putting them on.

Flesh coloured is good.

My DH offered to buy tights for me recently. I was very hesitant but he reassured me he was up to the job. He came back with tights that were almost orange. I did try them on with the best will in the world, but couldn't follow through.

flesh coloured is good
but
American Tan NO WAY!!!!!!!!!!

VanillaPumpkin · 23/04/2009 21:33

M&S Natural tan is a good shade. I say yes.

I reckon your friend is 40-something. In her 'hey-day' , dark tights were de rigour and anything flecsh was just, well cack. I have to fight my dark-tights fettish.

BocciBalls · 23/04/2009 22:18

lol at HuwEdwards ... won't tell my friend you think she's in her 40s. (she's 38) So pleased I am not alone in the sheer tights user group - as long as they are sheer and not orange of course.

HuwEdwards - I think you are spot on ! Have not thought about this before, but just realised that that in my late teens and very early 20s I used to wear dark sheer tights - would never consider it now ! (I am 36)

Hi, my partner and I are in favour of sheer flesh coloured tights. Got to be sheer to waist for the full affect and sexyness.

hoppybird · 06/05/2009 17:46

Has to be either stockings or hold-ups in nude or natural tan from M&S (they hold up well and don't wrinkle). Not tights. To me, the ONLY acceptable tights are black opaques.
