OMG!, the difference a properly measured and fitted bra makes.

all my old, supermarket bought stuff is going up in flames on the bbq later!

i tried on a bra that was £185 just to see what it felt like, no way could afford that much, but it fitted like a glove

Rigby and Peller?

how many bras did you get for that?

TheDevilWearsPrimark · 23/04/2009 14:52

Hooray! I adore proper underwear. Make sure you hand wash it!

Rhubarb · 23/04/2009 14:55

I dream of the days when I can get my underwear from places other than BHS!

I can't be alone in thinking that anything over £20 for a bra that only you and your partner will see, is just criminal?

lucykate · 23/04/2009 14:56

4 bras, all with an assortment of matching bottoms. i have never spent that much on bras in my life, but had got to the point where i was feeling i'm nearly 40, it's about time i had a bra that actually stays in place, and fits.

plus, i'm an awkward shape on one side due to a scar after having a cyst removed. i have bras that are pretty and cover the scar, rather than barely covering my nipples

rhubarb how big are your norks? big norks cannot be contained in cheapo bra's. plus most high streets don't even do my size.

LauriefairycakeeatsCupid · 23/04/2009 14:58

I think you got a lot for your money - well done, bet it makes you feel heaps better

lucykate · 23/04/2009 14:58

it came to a head this morning, i hug out the washing and then realised the bra i was wearing was no longer anywhere near my breasts!

small. But pert!

JustCallMeGoat · 23/04/2009 15:00

well mine are big and pert!

lucykate · 23/04/2009 15:00

dh is made up, and has asked if he can light the match in the ceremonial naff nylon underwear burning later!

it'll all melt into a solid plastic ball

phbbtttt!

JustCallMeGoat · 23/04/2009 15:01

what does that mean?

CMOTdibbler · 23/04/2009 15:05

Good bras make a huge difference to how you look in your clothes. In fact, I'm never that bothered about how the bra itself looks, but the effect on me in a t-shirt is vital.

I spent 65 quid the other week on two fabulous bras that give me a lovely shape, and make everything else look better

lucykate · 23/04/2009 15:05

the lady in the shop was really good and very helpful, i must have tried on about 20 bras today.

straps that don't dig on on the shoulder is a big revelation!

mine are not pert anymore, but when scooped up into a well fitting bra they do ok!

Oh god I am going to have to do this soon. I am 38 B/C - I have a wide rib cage and small breasts and nothing really fits. It never has I suppose but it didn't bother me years ago as I always used to wear baggy clothes. But £130!!

PMSLBrokeMN · 23/04/2009 15:09

I always think you should spend more on your underwear than what you put over the top, it's next to your skin all day and the right bra makes you feel fab whatever you're wearing. Or maybe it's just because I wander round feeling like the cat's PJ's in my lush undies and I imagine everyone staring and noticing, especially men... ok way way off topic here time for a cold shower

lucykate · 23/04/2009 15:12

ormirian - yes, but i got 4 bras plus 8 matching bottoms for that. the bras scoop up my wobbly puddings and make 2 very pert, nicely shaped, 34D norks. they put them back where they used to be 15 years ago

Hmmm that is good value I guess. But I still feel a bit faint at spending more than a tenner on a bra

Mine are reasonably upright still but then again there isn't much of them to sag. Not a great deal for gravity to get it's teeth into. But too much to go sans bra.

JustCallMeGoat · 23/04/2009 19:16

i got measured and found a brand that fitted and now get new bra's on ebay.

lucykate · 23/04/2009 22:47

just tried them all on again, the ones that fit the best are by triumph.
