Suncream for my face.

Am in the market and am not loaded. Any recommendations?

Can I wear my foundation (which has no SPF) over the suncream or will it look odd?

And finally are facial suncreams any better than just wacking a bit of factor 50 on my face? I am super pale so I need protection!

i used clinic face stuff last year (dh got it cheap in duty free) it is good under make up. bit greasy esp. towards the end of the day.

I am naturally a bit greasy (sexy) but clinique stuff is lush and all suncream is greasy isn't it?

Clinique super city block spf 40, its slightly tinted, but provides a nice matt finish, not an oil slick. i also wore foundation over the top for sight seeing on hol, could never face the public without foundation.

2 clinque recommendations.

Can you reapply it over foundation? This is very complicated but I am determined that 2009 is the year of NO SUNBURN.

no, i just put it on once and then makeup. i tend to wear a hat or sit in teh shade anyway. if i go swimming i would reapply but i probably wouldn't be wearing makeup iykwim

thanks for that madge, looks good, I'm going to try that one-ultrasun info

Lancome do a really nice anti ageing one for faces, slightly costly but lasted me 6 months in Australia so a really good buy.

Normal suncream on my face gives me spots.

I use a mac primer which has factor 50 in it. Has really helped with the midday oil slick with the added benefit of good sun protection. Think it was about £18 for a pretty small tube but you don't need much and I've been using mine for a while.

I bought some Ombre Soleir (haha at spelling) stuff from boots because I was buying something else and it was on BOGOF but it made my eyes STREAM so I might go the beauty counters in my local House of Fraser and try the Clinique one and Lancome.

No MAC counters here although I am in the market for a primer so it could be a good buy.

Clarins do a SPF 50 like the Clinique one, non-greasy and designed to be worn under foundation. Not the cheapest but I find one small bottle lasts all summer.

Dermologica do one that you can mix into your foundation or moisturiser - Solar defence booster SPF30.

Maiakins · 27/04/2009 13:19

Sunsense Daily Face SPF50 is fantastic - I love it. It is not at all greasy. So you can wear your foundation over the top. But it is tinted, so you don't need to.

My friend is a dermatologist and says it is really highly recommended by dermatologists for preventing sun damage, wrinkles etc. It comes from Australia, which makes me think they know what they're talking about!

I use it all over my face, neck and decolletage (!) You can buy it from special boutiques or online here for £11.25

It lasts a really long time and I love it!
