I know I want low rise, but what next?

Double tongue, Chuck Taylor - help.

Also what is the sizing like and do they rub the back of your heels?

Yes Fimbo they have survived many a wash!
To be fair I havent worn them constantly for 20 yrs.
I wore them in my teens and then rediscoverec them in my 30's!
I also have a pair of suede clogs that are about 18 yrs old that get dragged out every summer!
Quality will out!

TartanKnickers · 23/04/2009 19:07

I have pink laceless ones - and I agree that the sizing is pretty accurate.

Got mine from Office

AnyFucker · 23/04/2009 19:25

I have 4 pairs. My faves (at the moment) are navy blue high-tops. I also have a white pr with random graffiti on, a lime-green pr with black flies on (nicer than it sounds) and a brown pr with flames up the side.

I absolutely love them.

I am a standard size 6 with medium width feet and they fit perfectly. Not one pair has ever rubbed, even when new and I walk miles in 'em.

I buy mine from Ebay and Amazon. Last time I went in TK Maxx they had some lo-top denim blue ones. I had to be held back!

janmoomoo · 23/04/2009 23:00

I have narrow feet and I found them to be wide. But as they are lace up it doesnt really matter.

I have just got these totally bling ones in gold leather and they are the biz. Everyone mentions them.

Oh God - you can just go onto Amazon and buy Converses with one click. That's AWFUL!

SuziSeis · 24/04/2009 00:06

yes i am a wee bit worried about that too seeker

CandleQueen · 24/04/2009 00:08

I currently have red all-stars. I replaced the laces with rather snazzy tartan ribbon.
I like the fit, but have to wear insoles to support my arches because of excess pronation (my feet roll!)

LadyGlencoraPalliser · 24/04/2009 00:19

I did it only this week, Seeker.
I got these ones.

kickassangel · 24/04/2009 00:30

i have a pair of pale yellow high tops, with little ladybrids on them, and a pair of light & aqua double tongues. (lo top)

i yearn for plain red lo top, my 'stnadard' that i almost always have in the wardrobe, but finally wore through & had to throw them out.
i would love some brown & pink double tongue, and now want some laceless ones.

off to check out amazon usa, never thought to look there. i know what size i wear in US sizes now, so could just order a load.

shoes.com also have a good selection.

kickassangel · 24/04/2009 00:36

have a letch

sadly, amazon.com DON"T STOCK THEM!!!!!

luckily, there's a shop not 5 miles from here that do

kickassangel · 24/04/2009 00:49

make your own

i see where i'll be spending the rest of my evening, and my life savings!!

seeker · 24/04/2009 09:31

I've ordered red all stars - and am now worrying that I'm too old to wear them.....

So DH has to go to the US in a couple of weeks time - are they definitely cheaper there still, or does it now not make much difference? Anyone know?
