Hooray-1st interview in years, but what do I wear?

I have an interview to work in a very posh school as an assistant. My last interview was 6 years ago, so I am out of practice. What do I wear? I look best in A-line skirts as I am very broad hipped (size 12). I love high-heels, would a medium sized heel be suitable, Im only 5"3. Any suggestions. By the way, its a relegious school, so can't have anything too sexy

This is a bit weird - someone was asking the same question on another thread - and it wasn't you?! Same school?

I'd say wear a smart a-Line skirt, medium heels and an appropriate blouse (it's the only word, sorry!), or t-shirt with smart cardi.

i would have thought that a posh school would want you to look smart and conservative.

defo not sexy for any job interview!

A line skirt is fine, i would go for med heels in conservative colour, tights ( not bare legged) and a smart top and jacket

conservative jewellery

how old are you, if you don't mind my asking?

is it to be a classroom assistant or office?

what do the other staff wear?

Oh blimey.Just seen that thread, no its not the same job, and mine is in a few weeks. I don't even own a smart skirt, spent years as a mature student in jeans and t-shirts. Just need to find a shop with smart A-lines. They are so hard to find.

M&S have some smart, very reasonably priced A line skirts.

Just above the knee at the absolute shortest for your skirt! And I second tights, not bare legs. Shoes should be enclosed, not slingback or peep-toe. Heels are good, flat shoes somehow don't look very smart, but obviously not giant pointy stilettos.

I quite like this black and white skirt.

Or how about this geometric pattern?

Or if youu just want a plain black one you can wear a more interesting top.

Thanks for all your suggestions. I will def look in m&s. In answer to your question Samantha28, I am 36yrs. I totally agree about tights, especially for me, my legs are the colour of bread sauce not a good look at any time!
