Scholl sandals: are they as uncomfortable as they look?

I have a strange 70s-style fancy for a pair of these:

But surely a completely wooden sole would be agony after about five mins, no?

Can anyone enlighten me?

They're actually quite comfortable in my experience. I had a pair and walked everywhere in them.

I had some and they were AWFUL. I sent em to the charity shop. IMO some people can do hurty shoes, some can't.

The wooden soles are fine, but the leather across the top is very stiff and rubs your skin, I find.

Had a pair many years ago - wooden soles were no problem (although, to be fair, I do walk barefoot a lot of the time) but I found them heavy and not very flattering.
