Lovely.

Have you got 'nice' arms?

Have you got an idea for something to go with it - wrap/cardi etc?

Is it for a special occasion?

paddingtonbear1 · 20/04/2009 13:19

I think it's pretty, although I wouldn't wear it myself due to large norks!

howtotellmum · 20/04/2009 13:20

I have got "okay" arms- am working on them!

I tried it on in a size 8 today and it was a bit tight across the bust so am thinking of ordering over the web in a sz 10.

It is actually quite a casual dress when you see it- want something for everyday when it's hot, instead of skirts and Ts.

anyone else?

This is an alternative? Maybe I'd shorten it a bit.... and wear a different belt?

both nice
as you re a size 8/10 you should show off your figure and get the body skimming monsson one

littlesilversnowbeetle · 20/04/2009 13:31

gopping, sorry

howtotellmum · 20/04/2009 13:32

gopping?? Please explain...

Much prefer the Boden one, esp for everyday.

fishie · 20/04/2009 13:37

i like the boden one too.

i think if you go up a size to get the monsoon one to fit your bust it will be not be fitted enough on the rest of your body. and it probably wouldn't take a belt.

howtotellmum · 20/04/2009 13:48

Thanks everyone- I have ordered both of them so will see what they are like!!

Disenchanted3 · 20/04/2009 15:53

yuck

PuppyMonkey · 20/04/2009 15:58

Crikey Jesus, if that dress is "mumsy" in your eyes I hate to think what you would say about some of the stuff I've got which really IS mumsy! What do you want us all to wear? Leopardskin???

howtotellmum · 20/04/2009 18:40

jesus mumsy? I was worried if was too young* for someone as ancient as me!

OP posts:
foofi · 20/04/2009 18:45

Like the first one much more than the Boden one. First one not mumsy, second one is.

mrsmaidamess · 20/04/2009 18:50

I've never got SHIFT DRESSES. a BIT TOO dIANA, pRINCESS OF wALES, iyswim.

Good Lord what's happened to my typing

littlesilversnowbeetle · 20/04/2009 18:54

gopping = minging

howtotellmum · 20/04/2009 18:55

well the question is really about the material etc, but I just LOVE shift dresses as long as they are slightly fitted. I think they look classy and timeless- think Jackie O and Audrey Hepburn.

I am a tiny 5'3" and a size 8-10- most dresses are too fussy and swamp me- this at least looked as if it fitted and gave me some shape! But I am still not sure about the lacy bits- will wait til it comes and try.

Have to agree that teh Boden one could well be Mumsy- but got it on order at 15% off and free P*P & returns, so worth a look
