Shopping trolley - could you? Would you?

I am thinking about buying a shopping trolley instead of carrying bags everywhere. The one I have my eye on is this one

Not too "old lady" is it?

I am 43 but not ready to join the ranks of "old lady" even though I am menopausal.

Oi, I'm 14 years younger than you and have an ikea one.

Smithagain · 19/04/2009 16:36

I am on the brink of chucking out our buggy for good and seriously considering one. I'm 38. Still not quite sure if I'm brazen enough though.

BillSilverFoxBuchanan · 19/04/2009 16:37

Ooooh that's lovely!

Have been really tempted by one, but have the same reservations as you.

JollyPirate · 19/04/2009 16:39

Thanks differentID - a shopping trolley it is then. I rather like the Lakeland one - quite a funky design.

The Lakeland one is the nicest I've seen, and after the shopping trolley thread last week I've viewed quite a few

MrsMattie · 19/04/2009 16:45

Loads of young mums have them round my way. The market near me sells brightly coloured/patterned ones - not yer old tartan biddie-bag-on-wheels

TheFallenMadonna · 19/04/2009 16:47

Oh I do too. Nothing stylish about struggling with heavy bags IMO.

JollyPirate · 19/04/2009 16:49

... there was a shopping trolley thread last week? Should have done a search.

i was about to say cough - old lady- cough but actually...dd is just getting to big for my vast pushchair and i am an enthusiastic strider into town - but don't like struggling home with the heavy bags...

i actually have a sort of travel bag that looks remarkably like the link...tis cherry patterned...

will people point and laugh? am fairly ertain trolleys are only for the blue rinse brigade here but am now giving it serious thought...oh dear...damn you mn...first the mooncup, now the shopping trolley...

Tommy · 19/04/2009 16:57

I have promised myself one for when I no longer have a pushchair to put all my shopping on!

Very good idea IMO - saves on carriers, helps you walk more - can't lose! Go for it!

BillSilverFoxBuchanan · 19/04/2009 17:27

Here you go

JollyPirate · 19/04/2009 20:34

Thanks for that link - have some really good alternatives apart from Lakeland then.

I got mine last year [trendsetter]
A flowery ikea one for trundling to the beach on holiday. Have used it a couple of times under cover of darkness, at home.

The school's walking bus have a very cool black one - the kids apparently fight over whose turn it is to pull it
