inspired by another thread, i've been dying my hair at home for years. all i want to do now really is find a shade close to my natural hair colour (dark ash blonde with a bit of grey!) so i can grow it out and just stay natural. but i cannot find a suitable shade. my hair is in a short bob, and grows fast, so it won't take long to grow out the colour, just want to try and avoid stripy hair in the process!
is there really any advantage to going to a salon? will the colour still fade like a home dye does? home dyes seem to always go lighter and redder, do salon dyes do the same?
i've never had a colour done at a salon but am wondering if it's worth just going for it.
