Right. That is it. No more internet clothes shopping for me.

Because I never ever learn from my mistakes. I cannot, repeat cannot buy dresses because they are always too short in the waist - I'm 5'11" and the waists always come to the bottom of my rib cage which makes me look ridiculous and huge. I cannot buy trousers beause I need 36" legs and the longest in most shops are 33". And a sizes vary so much you can never be sure how they will fit. Just had to send a dress back and 2 pairs of cropped trousers!

I know that Top Shop do nice long jeans. And I like Uniqlo... but that is it!

Dorothy Perkins do nice long jeans too.

I'm also a 36" inside leg and internet shopping is a nightmare for me!

Try Dorothy Perkins, or New Look - both have a Tall section which does 36" Jeans

TsarChasm · 17/04/2009 12:54

Long Tall Sally no good?

OrmIrian · 17/04/2009 12:57

I've never found that much I like at Long Tall Sally TBH. But yes, it would make sense to shop in freak-people's shops rather than mainstream.

I've never seen that in either of those shops tequila. I must look harder obviously.

Ikwym about LTS. I like a few bits and bobs, but their clothes seem to miss the point somehow...whatever that may be

Also they 'name' their clothes which is plain weird in my book!

themoon66 · 17/04/2009 13:02

I'm tall and have the same trouble. Dresses too short, showing my croissant knees, dress waists up around my ribs etc.

Long tall sally are ok for basics like annonymous black trousers for work (another 36 inside leg here).

TrillianAstra · 17/04/2009 13:03

I've been told that Zara jeans are too long for any normal-sized person and always need to be taken up - maybe you could try them?

OrmIrian · 17/04/2009 13:03

Yep named clothes are odd

And they so often look like they've been designed for tall people ifswim. A bit drapey and odd.

Ooooh Zara! Yes! Excellent long trousers. But they don't do mail order on line. You need to go in the shops to try on coz stuff comes in small/medium/large rather than traditional sizings. They do vary a lot. I've got Zara trousers in small/medium and large and they all fit the same.

TrillianAstra · 17/04/2009 13:06

If the postage is the same no matter how much you order why not get a range of sizes and send back the ones you don't like?

(pay on credit card, return unwanted ones before credit card bill comes)

OrmIrian · 17/04/2009 13:25

I could. Didn't think about that!

NEXT have a finally started doing a TALL section, nice long lengths but range limited. However it is only available online

potplant · 17/04/2009 13:32

Have just ordered a new dress and you have reminded me that it probably wont fit because the waist will be in the wrong place - I live in hope!

I'm same height but 34 leg - not quite tall enough for Long Tall Sally but too tall for mainstream shops. Top Shop Tall is a bit limited.

I never learn my lesson.

OrmIrian · 17/04/2009 13:33

I know potplant - I see something that I really like and common sense and experience go out of the window! I don't actually like clothes shopping much so doing on t'net seems like an easy answer.
