Waistcoats - is that what I need?

In summer I wear alot of tea dresses, and floral chiffon dresses either with bare legs, over leggings or with skinny jeans.

I usually go for empire lines as find they flatter me best. But, do find sometimes I get the pregnant effect. A friend of mine suggested wearing a waistcoat (like not a shiny black one) and when fastened define shape.

What do you think?

And if you think yes, help me find a lovely one! [please please] that you think would be approptiate.

Hmm, I'm not a waistcoat fan myself.

I like this look too, but often wear a belt to define me waist, as I am 5'3" and can look a bit swamped by empire lines.

I saw a lovely one recently in Jigsaw, here, I didn't buy it and I'm kicking myself. It's expensive but lovely in RL and would go with everything.

that belt is lovely. And I am up for the delt wearing and already have a lovely one (a wide elastic one with a narrow leather buckle IYKWIM) but it just feels uncomfortable! (perhaps I need to buy one in a bigger size lol)
