where in London to get fitted for a bra?

i'm going to London next week and thought while i was there i'd take the opportunity to find a decent underwear shop and treat myself to some bras that fit properly.
I currently don't wear one at all. I am very petite....so i need somewhere that is going to do small sizes rather than large.

Any suggestions? (and idiot directions to find them because i don't know my way round London at all)

Agree - Rigby and Peller.

They have one branch next to Harrods, and another just of Bond Street.

Rigby and Peller. Would recommend ringing first to make an appointment so you aren't waiting around.

queenrollo · 15/04/2009 10:50

i looked at the website and thought booking an appointment would be a good idea. I need to check with DP first to see which one will be best for me to go to. I don't know London geography, but he does so he will know which is closest/easiest to get to from where we are staying. (he's at work so i'm having to build up the courage to get round London on my own during the day)

I would also suggest John Lewis on Oxford st if you can't get to R and P

MrsFogi · 15/04/2009 22:26

I thank God for R&P every day when I get dressed - I used to wear a 36A then I visited them and now have a 32C and I my boobs feel like a million dollars (and I like to think they look it too) now! I would never, ever have thought of trying on that size.

picklesmama · 15/04/2009 23:55

Rigby and Peller have a Westfield store too (go to Shep's Bush) - echo them for smaller sizes too

volunteervole · 16/04/2009 21:33

Rigby and Peller were very snotty to me. I hope you have better luck with them!

nowwearefour · 16/04/2009 21:39

i was going to come on and suggest r and p or john lewis. but i must add that i totally disagreed with the r andp measurement as they seem obsessed with bigger cups and smaller back sizes. didnt work for me but clearly they do for most other women!

angelene · 16/04/2009 21:42

Rigby & Peller are fabulous - Conduit Street opposite Viv Westwood. Take a book if you go on the weekend!

MamaHobgoblin · 17/04/2009 09:19

R&P never less than charming, friendly, helpful and not pushy, and I've been for 3 fittings there and only bought stuff on one occasion! They even let me use their staff loo when I was pregnant - twas fascinating - had lots of post-its on the mirror about how to be polite to customers. And they were, too!

queenrollo · 25/04/2009 20:35

well i went to R&P and got fitted......i didn't make an appointment because i suffer anxiety and wasn't sure if i would make it! I went in about 10.30 am and got straight in for a fitting. Had one bra pinned and sent away to be adjusted, and another one which i am wearing on the tightest fitting, which i can take back to be altered when it gets loose. I have a very small back measurement (28) and have discovered i am a B cup...after years of being told i was a 30 double A....i am so pleased and it was well worth the money. This is the first time in my life i have ever spent so much money on myself!
