Jigsaw and Kew have gone downhill- resorting to Boden again- help! Where else?

USed to love Jigsaw and Kew but they have now gone all droopy and plain, and Jigsaw is £££s.

Where else is there apart from Boden?
( don't like twee prints or applique).
Hate Hobbs, Toast and Joules.
White Stuff is nice but not the dresses.
Fat Face not me.

I am 45-ish size 8-10 and petite. I don't wnt to look mutton as lamb, but have a bit of fashion sense left in me.

Help!

Whistles?

howtotellmum · 14/04/2009 19:59

Hmmm..all a bit dull this season, and a bit too formal as well. I like things with a quirky or ethnic twist. Please don't suggest Monsoon-too garish and prints too big for me.

Ronaldinhio · 14/04/2009 20:15

Per Una is something I totally don't get

Maybe it's because I'm too old!

howtotellmum · 14/04/2009 20:53

Not Per Una -sorry- too fuusy and droopy skirts etc.

Phase 8- a bit too Per Unar-ish.

You can see why I am having problems.

The odd time I do think "That looks hopeful" I find that they have stuck some tatty applique or a ruffle on what would have been an okay jumper or top. However, my mum (72) loves their stuff as it's a bit glam!

FlorenceAndtheWashingMachine · 14/04/2009 21:05

X-post. That was about Per Una by the way.

Don't think you can order online but they have a shop finder and I think I've seen in either John Lewis or House of fraser.

FlorenceAndtheWashingMachine · 15/04/2009 09:28

Aefondkiss's 'Inis' link is great. I am going to have a window shop this morning.

missblythe · 15/04/2009 09:46

Zara? You'd need to have the trousers shortened (which they can do for you), as they are made for giants, but lovely things and great for your dress size.

French Connection-also fairly long legged trousers, but have got some 'gorgeous classic, with fashion edge' pieces at teh moment.

macherie · 15/04/2009 10:05

this site has some lovely clothes.
