I hate my figure & shopping but need something really smart for a posh daytime 'do'. are personal shoppers any good?

my top half is size 8/10 - no boobs whatsoever (A cup is too big). my bottom half is like a Russian shotputter - big bum & legs like treetrunks. i will be seeing a lot of people I've not seen for a while so want to look good. I live in jeans & tshirts so have no idea where to start. would a personal shopper be any good? Would they try & coerce me to buy stuff?

I used a personal shopper at Monsoon when I needed a dress for DD's christening. I found her really helpful and she wasn't at all pushy. She didn't try and co-erce me into buying the most expensive dress, and was honest about what did and disn't look good. She was also very good at suggesting accessories that I wouldn't have thought of, but again wasn't pushy. Well worth a try, I'd say.

My mum went to a debenhams one. She came out with some lovely clothes, which did look very nice but unfortunately really weren't my mum's style. I convinced her to take most of it back!

But yes I think they can be very good and if you get home and decide it's not the right thing, you can still return stuff under the normal refund policy.

Good luck!

I found the Debenhams personal shoppers good, have used them a couple of times. If you are not too "polite" but honest about what you do/don't like they should be able to sort you out.

I think the best thing is they obviously know how clothes look when worn by a person, so they would pick out things I'd bypass on the hanger, that actually looked great on and flattered my figure.
