Shoes again! Help please! why does everypair I own or buy rip my feet apart these days?

Seriously, it's beyond a joke now. I am down to one pair of ballet flats and a pair of flipflops that don't cut my feet to ribbons.

I buy a pair, they feel fine for ten minutes, then whilst I'm out I'm crippled at some point.

Is there any miracle plaster or ANYTHING to help with the breaking in period??

I know it sounds ridiculous, but its actually really becoming a problem, as I only wear clothes these days that co-ordinate with said pair of shoes!

Help!

escape I sympathise. I bought a pair recently from Jones - they are so flipping sore.

What I find helps is getting shoes made from tough leather stretched (cobblers can do this for you), and also having Compeed at hand for damage repair. I'm not ready at 33 to go down the Ecco/ Footglove/ Hush Puppies route yet!

Have you tried wearing them round the house with thick socks a few times, gently breaks them in before wearing them out for a few hours? Those party feet gel insoles also do different shapes in a pack that you can stick on where ever rubs. They do a little gel spot that was perfect for a pair of peep toes that i knew would rub.

Moleskin is good - you stick it inside the shoe on the bits that are rubbing: especially good on the backs of ballet shoes until they soften a bit.

Rub a large amount of handcream all over your feet before wearing new shoes. A work mate told me to do this and it works, just keep applying throughout the day.

vasaline or you can buy compeed stick you can pop in your bag and rub on your heels etc

um after my second child I discovered by trying on different shoes that my feet had in fact gone up 1/2 to a full size after child one.

Not sure why it took me 2 years to realise this but .

sorry MIA - I'm sure that there are some lovely HPs out there.

Compeed have saved my feet so many times. I have just bought a pair of clarks sandals and am wearing them for 30 mins at a time around the flat. Should have broken them in for summer! (If we have one this year).
