love all these threads - wonder if you can help me
pulled out my summer clothes and bored and they are all a good few years old
5 '8 about a size 14 with wide hips - generally slimsh
42 years old but dont care about dressing a bit younger - wore leggings, dresses, long jumpers and boots this winter
Fairly hippy looking but have some linen trousers and fitted t shirts
Look best in fitted clothes but need to feel fairly comfy and ususally dress for comfort - [resisted elastic trousers so far] - need to make more an effort
Any key pieces or accessorise that will update me and look a bit more fashionable

Gladiator sandals - there are hundreds out there of all colours, materials and budgets. Definitely 'on trend' footwear.

Jewellery - coral and turquoise/Aztec-style are big this season. Try Topshop (or any of the younger high street stores, really) for nice, cheap pieces.

At the risk of revealing myself as really style-less, I like these:

accessorize

and

accessorize again - but featured in Grazia!

I do worry that the first might look a bit tacky in the flesh, but I really like these "crafty" styles of accessory.

I think they'd look nice with jeans and T-shirt or if you're working a slightly fifties/vintage look or a sort of dressed-down Audrey Hepburn thing.

But not necessarily with a full-on hippy look. I suspect it might look messy and bit too much there.
