"Proper" waterproof jackets for dc

Looking for recommendations please.

We are planning on doing some walking this year and decided we need to bite the bullet and get decent jackets for dd (4) and ds (10 months)

The cheaper the better, I don't really want to spend 40 or 50 quid if possible.

What do your dc wear for outdoorsy stuff?

TIA

Milletts Peter Storm range is reasonable value and usually a fairly good choice

Muddy puddles rainsuit cost me £17 for dd (2.5) from ebay, and has been great. Someone was talking about a discount on children's Peter Storm jackets the other day - hang on...

Look at this thread - millets clearance as Figment said. Also look for sales in Tiso, Cotswold, etc. And ebay!

Muddy puddles -oh yes I've seen them before, will look 'em up

We have a Milletts in town, I'll have a look there

Some reduced here and also under Waterproofs. We've had the Keela Poseidon one and it has handled all sorts of weather - not small enough for your dc though.
