Are they nice?

I can't make my mind up. They look nice on other people, but when I tried a pair on, they made me look really frumpy.

I really want a pair because they are so comfortable, but can't decided if they will be a waste of money.

I don't think the pink ones look frumpy. TK Maxx had some in last week at 19.99. Design is slightly different but for 19.99 not too bad

i think that pink pair is hideous - go for something a bit less showy (it's the pink sole)

the toe posts ones are good or just a simple madrid in a funky colour

I've got some like these but in silver. They look great in summer with a bit of a tan. I don't think they look frumpy, but you have to be careful what you wear with them (knee length calf length shorts and a khaki teeshirt and you risk looking like a frumpy scouts leader)

I live in my Birkies six months of the year. Once you have got used to walking in them, you are ruined for anything else!

Imo they look fab, even on me and I'm quite short with chunky calves.

I have different colours for different moods, and my faves are white with flowers on them.

Do it! And yes, check out TK Maxx and Costco. If all else fails buy on ebay, you will save at least a fiver on fashion shops. Go down a size as they make them biiig.

I have 14 pairs at my last count - they are fab - do not get white ones or you will look like a beautician!

I only like the one strap ones and not inbetween toe ones or any weird ones.

DS has some and DH and I am on the look out for some pretty opnes for DD now too.

The one strap ones are the only nice ones imo too. They are called Madrid, ebay has a mountain of 'em.

I love my Birkies! They're a few years old and I think the design has been discontinued -- style is like these but design is blue with pink flowers. They are soooooo comfy it's unreal, and I think they look fab

Costco do them and they are a lot cheaper there than in the shops.

tend to live in birkies in teh summer even though I try not to I always revert to them !

I have had a white pair ages ago - then a silver pair and wore them out, last year had a patent black pair which still have life in them but might get another silver pair this year.... Always madrid.

I love mine too, I only have 3 pairs ( at MC's 14 pairs) and wear them all the time. I don't think they are frumpy, but tbh, even if they were, I would not give up on them because they are so comfortable to wear.

I have worn and worn my silver madrid birkenstocks. So comfy, can't wait for summer now!

This style is also nice, I have them in a bronze colour.

Ooh I love my birkenstocks too - and hope don't think I'm frumpy!

I saw some lovely bright orange patent Madrid ones recently but the Birkenstock website doesn't seem to do them. I knew I should've bought them at the time. Anyone seen them anywhere?

Of course that meant to say hope I'm not frumpy!

I love my Madrids, although I'm not convinced but the patent ones, TBH.

I love them too, I have 6 or 7 pairs in a range of colours. The first day in a new pair they re a bit sore but then they are total bliss.

I've got those pink patent ones and they're nice.

I'm short so tend to just wear them around the house/garden but am pregnant and due in the summer so undboubtedly they'll be the only thing i can get my swollen feet into by july.

Fattipuffs Amazon have orange patent Papillio Madrids, made of Birko-flor, have just tried to link but failed, sorry.

I love 'em, wear 'em with everything from jeans to dresses

I replace the same pair of double-strap (Papillio?) in dark brown leather every couple of years because I wear 'em every day from May-Oct

I also have an orange single-strap (Madrid?) pair just waiting to be worn in

I have a Costco card so may just take the plunge and get a pair. Now, patent black or pink???

I like the toe post design, silver is lovely. IMO they look a lot nicer if you have slim legs and ankles (which I dont!)
