There was literally not one thing that I would have bought. I understand that I am about 7 years and 2 children too late to be their target customer but really, come off it

Until other retailers start doing inexpensive jeans in 36" inside leg I'm going to be shopping in Top Shop till I'm a granny

OrmIrian · 08/04/2009 13:08

rachw1 - me too! Even Gaps long jeans aren't always long enough.

i did buy a long sleeve t shirt from there - i went looking for tops!

i also bought a jacket - the most sensible thing in the shop probably - navy, quite simple, lined with flowers, buttons - a bit nautical look but at 60 quid im very happy with it

i thought the girls in there looked nice so they must be good at sorting through the weird stuff

By pure coincidence, I went into Top Shop yesterday too. I didn't notice the gear you've highlighted because I was looking for a bikini for my neice. Even she had the sense to text "not yellow or orange". Most of them were yellow or orange. The shop assistant who served me was really, really nice: friendly & helpful. £25 seemed a bit steep for the amount of cloth purchased (DN is a size 10)!

I love topshop for plain vests and t's and thats it.
TBH im not sure I could have ever worn their stuff despite always being a size 8/10, you have to be a bit quirky (a la Fearne Cotton) to get away with most of it and Ive never been that sort of girl who can wear wet look leggings with a bat-winged t-shirt and pull it off really!
