I want beads!

Is anyone good at finding jewellery? Ive decided I need to accesorise more.

I want a necklace of big chunky wooden beads, a bit like this but in different colours if possible.

Where should I look?

If I can get earring with one or two beads on to match that would be great too.

TIA

Hmm, that bolding didn't quite go as planned.

sainsburys have fab stuff

FigmentOfYourImagination · 07/04/2009 15:45

Buy a bead set and let the DCs loose. I've got tons of bright strings of beads made by DD's fair hands.

TrillianEAstraEgg · 07/04/2009 15:52

Ooh, that sounds like a fun game (no DCs, just me )

S'okay, I can understand why you'd assume I am a mum on mumsnet , I'm just tagging along for the chat

So where do I get a nice bead set from?

I want bright colours on large wooden beads, preferably some larger than others.

Sainsburys is a good idea BTW GossipMonger - that's definitely the price range I'm looking at!

I should think they sell nice beads at Hobbycraft type places.

FigmentOfYourImagination · 07/04/2009 16:04

not beads all the way around but v colourful

Similar idea

Woody one

Coral colours

Maybe ?

FigmentOfYourImagination · 07/04/2009 16:06

Online bead supplier

FigmentOfYourImagination · 07/04/2009 16:06

Possibly too £££ but is chunky and has matching earrings available

Eve4Walle · 07/04/2009 16:10

What about Primark? I've been there today and they have some truly lovely pieces of costume jewelery and beads at cheap cheap cheap prices. You could buy a bag load for a tenner!

TrillianEAstraEgg · 07/04/2009 16:10

Wow, lots of links! Thanks

I like the woody one from DP and also the yellow one. Shame they don't come in a bigger range of colours (I am definitely not a 'coral' person).

I'll probably go spend hours on that bead site now!

Not wood but bold and chunky

Blue tones

Greens & browns

Whizzz · 07/04/2009 16:14

If you know the sort of thing you are after & want something specific, I could make you one

TrillianEAstraEgg · 07/04/2009 16:43

Oooh, yuor stuff looks lively Whizzz but I was just thinking of a single string with big chunky beads on. If I were getting you to make something I feel it would have to be intricate and delicate (and too difficult for me to do myself!).

OP posts:
Whizzz · 07/04/2009 16:45

LOL I can do chunky too but I know what you mean

Tillyscoutsmum · 07/04/2009 16:46

Definitely try Sainsburys - I get most of mine from there... Places like Dorothy Perkins. Monsoon, Wallis, Next etc are worth a look as well
