I really want this
www.reddirect.co.uk/p/Jewellery_Bracelets/JE9-20.htm

but I rarely wear jewellery. but it's so pretty

I have at least 5 pairs of shoes bought but never worn and found 2 tops that I bought 5 years ago and have never worn

Please tell me I'm not the only one who does this....

why don't you wear jewellery? i always have same rings, change earrings bracelets and soemtimes necklace according to outfit.

that cuff does look a bit painful though with the choppy edge, only for wafting around in.

no i don't buy things i know i won't wear. if i am at all unsure i don't take tags off and am very good about returning stuff.

sometimes it does take me a while to work out what to put a new garment with but i usually wear it in the end.

Flamesparrow · 07/04/2009 08:29

Shoes. Big heeled ones.

I have a fabulous pair of boots that I bought, fell in love with, and wore once because they are too high Same with a pair of green shoes I rarely wear - they just never seem compatible with toddlers

notyummy · 07/04/2009 08:30

Dresses.

For the lifestyle I don't have....

I have started to force myself to wear them to work, although I worry that I look like I'm making too much of an effort

Blackduck · 07/04/2009 08:33

Yes, dresses and skirts...I AM a trouser person, I should just accept this fact and stop looking at/buying dresses or 'girly' things - not girly at all.....

fishie · 07/04/2009 08:33

oh yes there are two pairs of high heeled shoes. but i am waiting for the occasion rather than never going to wear them of course.

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 07/04/2009 08:47

thank you all for making me feel a little less freakish even if I didn't confess the true extent of my buying but not wearing....

fishie I do wear a necklace usually but I am not really a jewellery person, I don't even wear my wedding/engagement rings.

Oh yes, skirts. Because I want to be somebody who wears skirts but somehow am just not.

TrillianEAstraEgg · 07/04/2009 08:57

I need to buy more accessories, then wear them.

Am I deluding myself that if I bought stuff would wear it? Does my lack of accessorising reflect my lack of actually owning anything, or does it mean I'm just not an accessorisy person?

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 07/04/2009 08:59

Why aren't you wearing your running kit

hmm I would say people that wear skirts are people who tend to acessorise more (how's that for a generalisation). Why don't you buy a few cheap pieces from accessorise and if you do wear them then splash out on something more fancy?

boogeek · 07/04/2009 09:01

I am going to wear a skirt today too!
(Shameful admission: the reason I don't often is because of my ungroomed legs )

TrillianEAstraEgg · 07/04/2009 09:13

I will be wearing my skirt after I wear my running kit Libras

This is why I have to have a running thread, so I will get nicely nagged elsewhere on the board

Oooh, and I'll shave my legs too, thanks for reminding me boogeek.

higgle · 07/04/2009 09:29

I have a very nice size 10 wardrobe, which I add to constantly....and a not so nice size 14 body, which I am struggling to reduce.

MorrisZapp · 07/04/2009 18:07

I buy for the woman I wish I was, not the woman I am. Tons of impulse buys to prove it!

I'm curvy on top so would seem to be the ideal 'Nigella cardi' type yet my wardrobe is rammed with little cardies I have bought and never worn.

I want to be Nigella/ Kirstie Allsop, but in reality I'm just myself aged 19 but have grown mysteriously older. ie still wearing jeans every day becuase I simply don't know how not to be that person.

They're nice jeans, but still. Roll on the summer, when I wear denim skirts every day

MorrisZapp · 07/04/2009 18:10

... I have a friend who wears planned outfits every day: dresses, skirts, floaty tops, chunky belts, boots, high heels, you name it.

I live in awe of her but would simply not know where to start. I suppose I can't really be arsed!

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 08/04/2009 12:08

I have 50 pairs of tights. I wear dresses/skirts 4-5 times a year. ffs.

(doing post pregancy clean-out hence the sudden realisation of never worn clothes...)

higgle, I think this is my problem my weight fluctuates between size 12-16 so I have clothes for all sizes, a lot of duplication.

morriszap I have a lovely denim skirt which I bought 3 years ago and haven't yet dropped enough weight since then to get into it. This summer crosses fingers.

Libra, knee length denim skirts go for about a fiver on ebay. There are millions on there. Buy one you can wear now, and enjoy baring your legs this summer!

I'm a solid size 14 and I wear mine from May to September. Looks great, if I say it myself!

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 08/04/2009 12:26

yeah I'm not sure the world deserves having my legs bared to them that's the problem thanks for the tip tho.
