Work clothes! New and need help

Hello wise mn'ers.... I've been browsing for a while but got brave enough to register today!

Any ideas? I need some new work clothes - smart(ish) and not too expensive!

I'm 5' 4", size 10 (sometimes 8 trousers but normally 10), no boobs! Blonde hair and quite pale...

Really could do with some new tops to go with black trousers, maybe some funky shoes (no peep toes due to regularly losing toe nails thanks to netball nice ), a dress, nice cardigans... I don't know, but all my clothes are all a bit old!!

I'm not very confident and definitely prefer nothing tight fitting and like black (slimming!)

Feeling very stuck in a rut - anyone fancy a challenge?!?

Welcome to MN fluffyandpink !

What sort of environment do you work in ? Office ? Smart or business casual ?

How old are you ?

Best bits ?

Any bits you want to hide ?

Oh yeah... age.... I'm 37, work in an office but don't have to wear a suit (no jeans though). Don't particularly like any part of me, legs are a bit chunky (due to muscles apparently, I just think they are chunky!), boobs non existent! I'm reasonably slim and toned but have confidence issssssssuuuuuuuuuues

Quite like my hair!! Long, blonde and straight...

Are there any particular colours you do / don't like?

What about a shirt dress, which you can wear with tights and boots now and then with bare legs and shoes when it gets hotter in the summer? Then maybe a skirt, dark grey trousers rather than black and some brighter tops, maybe fitted shirts or fitted t-shirts and cardigans? That would probably give you enough to mix and match to make quite a few different outfits and would last through the summer.

Any as for shoes, what about patent or metallic ballet pumps?

And then a nice bag and possible a scarf (but a big nice summer cotton one that you can drap round your neck, not a airhostess style one knotted at your throat!!) and there are some great chunky necklaces around. A few nice accessories can make quite a difference and you don't have to spend a fortune.

Places to look I'd suggest Zara, Gap, if you're in London then Cos is good but they don't have any branches outside London, Oasis, Kew, M&S (great bags and scarves) and Next (which has some fab flat ballet pumps at the mo), Primark has some nice tops but I find they don't wash brilliantly.

And when you're out shopping remember to check washing labels before you buy, there's nothing worse than discovering something's handwash after you've worn it and then (well, in my world ) it sits in the washing basket for 6 months waiting to be washed.
