Black straight leg jeans?

Really fancy a pair, can't seem to find any. Would prefer a bit of stretch in them too, and hopefully not too expensive.

Any tips for where to start? TIA!

I was going to suggest dorothy perkins, their jeans are really nicely cut.Had a look on the website and they are sold out.
May be worth looking instore though.

uniglo are fab quality

LibrasJusticeLeagueofBiscuits · 04/04/2009 10:41

GAP have them, think they are about £40. I'm so glad black jeans are back in fashion

Jewelsandgems · 04/04/2009 14:03

Miss selfridge have some really nice black jeans. They are skinny jeans, but more like straight leg and at £25 not a bad price.

CountessDracula · 04/04/2009 14:14

i would have said uniqlo too
but my black ones have faded badly and get so baggy at teh knees after one wear that I am fed up with them

Not a patch on my river island ones

brimfull · 04/04/2009 19:27

CD -really? Their quality must be going downhill now they are expanding all over the place.
dd has a 2 yr old pair of jeans from them that are like new.

hk78 · 05/04/2009 18:33

has anyone tried the new look polka straight legs? what are they like?

i've got some hulas after seeing them recommended on here and they are great btw

chocolepew · 05/04/2009 18:36

M&S £12 jeans come in a black straight leg.

luckywinner · 05/04/2009 18:41

I completely agree with CountessDracula too. Mine were hopeless. I have just replaced them with a pair from topshop. I think they are called martha and they are ace. I think they were 40 quid. I see if I can find a link to them. Martha jeans

I bought these ones in black too and tuck them into boots baxter

frazzledgirl · 05/04/2009 18:52

Ah, I have Baxters in blue and black (courtesy of my sister), but will check out the Marthas.

Will also have a dekko at M&S - are those the miracle bum jeans people on this board have raved about before?

dd's Top Shop martha ones went all baggy at the waist, they refunded her.

Crunchie · 05/04/2009 20:01

I have the new look polka ones, got them friday and they sre fab. Slim and straight without being 'skinny'. Also M&S do skinny black jean, they are pretty good but come up big. I can't stand low cut one either, they need to be cut to the waist or just below. low rise are terrible on me

frazzledgirl · 06/04/2009 09:47

Well, tried on a pair of Polkas and a pair of M&S ones this morning.

The Polkas didn't look v nice on me, although they were short and dark blue (all I could find; nice but hopeless assistant explained there is no stock control system whatsoever so she couldn't begin to guess when they were next getting in some black regular length ones).

M&S also only had the short (although v apologetic about it and offered to order some for me). But I must say I was impressed. Hadn't had a pair of high-rise for ages and they're loads more flattering. Only thing I didn't like so much was the colour - if only they were true dyed black rather than black denim IFSWIM.

The 10 was a little tight, the 12 a little loose. Current owners: do they stretch much, or should I just go for the 12?

Everybody ont the M+S jeand thread recently were buying smaller sizes. I'm a 14 and couldn't get away wih a 12, the 14 is a tiny bit big but more flattering. I don't find that the stretch out of shape. They're very comfy.
