Have you tried Bravissimo (.com I assume) larger ladies in my old office used to swear by them!

if they are riding up your back, i think that means they are the wrong size. i would take them back and try a 42DD

Meggymoo, whatever size I am, I have problems finding bras. When I'm slim, I'm a 34F, currently I'm a 38G, down from 44JJ as I have lost a lot of weight.

I went to Bravissimo twice and another specialist shop to be measured, got 2 bras on each occasion (they seemed fine when they were fitted), but after about an hour of wearing them I was in agony, so took them back each time.

Being sure of my correct size, I went off to M&S and spent an afternoon trying on bras (you do need to be on your own without kids!). The best range for me is the T Shirt bra range - very comfy, supportive and cut very well for £20 IMO.

Yes, that's exactly my problem meggy, especially when I've shelled out £50 per bra .

I think if you give yourself some proper time to try on lots of different styles, you start to realise which one are going to feel like a vice around your chest an hour later.

There may be other styles that would better suit your frame than the one I suggested - I do thing M&S has vastly improved its range for women with bigger cup sizes - a couple of years ago they were useless to me.

All the larger ladies in my family swear by Bravissimo. Unfortunately for me post bf I have shrunk below their threshold :-( (they start at D cup)

They (mostly) don't make their own but have picked out styles from other makers that are particularly suited to larger sizes. Also their website has some helpful advice about what is likely to be wrong for different symptoms eg. riding up.

They say they don't fit by numbers but how each style looks on you... so the idea is if you go to one of their shops (pref when quiet!) they will help you identify which cut/style is right for you.

I'm definitely different sizes in different brands - I just have to keep trying stuff on and flail my arms around a bit with the bra on - I need to be sure it's going to keep my boobs in the right place comfortably!

definitely try Bravissimo - absolutely brill and the lasses in my local store arent stick thin either so you dont feel too self conscious when you pour your enormous breasts out

It is funny, but it's sooooooo important isn't it to find comfortable bras. Being the size they are, my boobs cause me enough aggro as it is!

I think riding up at the back is too big across the back so try a 38.
I found Rigby and Pellar absolutely brilliant but that will depend if you are in London or not.

Riding up the back definitely means the back size is too big. You need a 38. I was measured at 40 but am definitely (post pregnancy and breastfeeding) a 38. You go up a cup size and down a back size and it will be better, I promise. Don't blame your poor back for the bras riding up - it's not that.

Yes, If I'm going to spend over £50 on a bra, I'd prefer to do it at Rigby & Peller. Try to go midweek if you can. Fridays and Saturdays are a bit of a nightmare in there.

if the bra strap at the back rides up, its too big! try a size smaller and a cup size bigger so that would make you a 38E this is what i was told in john lewis and it worked. the reverse applies if a 40DD is too small go for a 42D.

I spent a fortune on bras that didnt fit me and was never measured correctly on the high street. Finally the good people at R&P measure me as a 32H But, I didn't want to shell out the £75 the only bra they had in stock in my size cost. They wrote the style and number down for me so I could "have a think" and I've been buying bras in my correct size from Bravissimo ever since. Feel a bit mean, but it's saved me a fortune.
