Wow, that's lovely. One of the more sophisticated offerings from Jane Norman.

I wish I had good legs and could wear pencil skirts.

I think the woman in the shop is right, silver doesn't really go, you need gold or bronzey colours with that dress.

Jewelsandgems · 31/03/2009 18:24

A dark metalic silver (like dark gunmetal) may look good.

spugs · 31/03/2009 18:34

just tried it on with black sandles and it was fine but definitly could do better! may need a pair of proper pants as well, i got some supposedly invisable ones but i swear i can still see them. plus my tummy isnt completly flat not bad but not perfect so some sucky in ones might be in order [hmm[ can you get any that are remotly sexy? they dont need to be very controling as its nt at all bad. my other allternative is to go knickerless

its sandals.

JudithChalmers · 31/03/2009 18:37

remotely.
invisible

apart from THAT, i reckon NO to black, bronze much nicer.
and yes to no pants tbh - also dont try it on UNDER a light - never flattering

that is a goooooorgeous dress! agree, sandals, high, strappy, bronze-brown/gold colour. I have just the bag that would go with it from H&M.

bluebump · 31/03/2009 18:40

Lovely dress. I think gold would look good with it.

TsarChasm · 31/03/2009 18:40

Ooh thats lovely! I'm assuming you have the brown one? They're both lovely though.

Yes I like Jewels' suggestion re shoes.

I wouldn't wear much jewellery. Just a fantastic pair of earrings. A bit dangly maybe, but quite plain. Gold or silver.

Where will you be wearing it?

squeaver · 31/03/2009 18:42

I can't believe that dress is from Jane Norman.

Don't wear pants. I suspect it'll show everything.

MadameCastafiore · 31/03/2009 18:42

these if the gold is near enough to the colour of the dress

are these near enough the same colour?

these

these?

I would match the dress and shoes and go for a really soft leather clutch.

God I am a saddo I could just look at pictures of shoes all night!

MadameCastafiore · 31/03/2009 18:45

You need a huge pair of gold clip ons maybe with pearls?

Sorry am dressing you for a wedding when you maybe going out on the pull.

Ignore large gold and pearl earrings if you are out on the pull.

spugs · 31/03/2009 18:50

sorry about the spelling, i switch off when im on here and a one yr old crawling on the key board doesnt help either!
Im going to my best friends wedding in a couple of weeks and i cant wait
those shoes are lovely madame but out of my price range, ive seen these in faith today and they were more goldy brown then they look in the picture so i might go for those.i cant wear anything to high as im already 5ft 10!

OP posts:
TsarChasm · 31/03/2009 19:25

These aren't too high

boogeek · 31/03/2009 19:31

You might be able to try navy with it?

spugs · 31/03/2009 19:58

tsar - those are really nice, i like shoes with no ankle strap

I am about your height too. I like high shoes and luckily dh is tall, but if I'm too high I can tower over people.

second from the left too high?

spugs · 04/04/2009 08:17

Great minds think alike beinieb ive orderd those shoes but ive ordered cream as apparently its darker then it looks. if they dont go then im going to change them for the brown.

Ruby the sizing in Jane Norman is supposed to be quite small. Im a 10 and couldnt get the coral size 10 fastened around my boobs, the brown one does though (and its nicer). It is very fitted but thats fine, the 12 was too lose around the hips. So either normal size or a size up maybe especially if your curvey.
