I've got a weding in a month in Spain. I'm still bf DD and I can't find a bf dress I like (have posted on a previous thread - no joy).

So, can you find me a breast-feeding friendly top and skirt? I want something smart and stylish. I'm a size 14-16, and a 'pear'. I'm a redhead with pale skin.

I don't want black or white, but don't mind a bit f either

Thankyou!

I thought this Monsoon top was pretty. With it being a wrap top you could open the tie side and lift the cami to feed? As it's a longer style it might look better with trousers than a skirt though. How do you feel about trousers to a wedding? This linen pair would be fine.

This wrap from Coast would make feeding easy and they sell a skirt in the same colour. You'd have to add some great shoes though to stop it looking a bit "Mother of the Bride".

Have you absolutely decided against a dress? This Coast dress opens at the front (And it's not white, it's "oyster") so is ideal for bf.

Thanks Amandoh -

As to the dress, I suppose I'm thinking of feeding while we eat as at the last wedding we went to DD was a bit freaked at the dinner and just wanted to sit there on the breast all the time (and eventually fell asleep). I suppose I could manage with a strategically placed shawl but I think it's a bit of a faff.

I like the purple shirt and I don't mind wearing trousers.

I suppose I was thinking of hiking up the top of whatever outfit I get, rather than opening up as that's what I usually do (less skin exposed!).

Come to think of it, that's eaxctly where my difficulty comes from, as 'hikable' tops tend to either be jersey (not very weddingy) or loose (not very smart).

Oh. and no I can't wear the old BF dress. It's a bit of an 'everyday' object now, and everyone's seen it as such.

SIL would be very . Spanish weddings are v.smart!

Maybe a vest top with either trousers or a skirt in the same colour then a striking shrug/cardi over the top?

If you like purple then this over white would work well. Or this over navy.

Lots more here at Monsoon.

As a small by-the-by, on a recent thread about bf tops a lot of people suggested wearing a feeding vest (it appears there are such things now) over their bra and under whatever top they're wearing.
You can hike up the top without revealing acres of belly flesh as the you unclip the vest with your bra and pull it down.
Might give you a bit more leeway on styles of top.

this is pretty

and could be dressed up with heels and a wrap and a flower in your hair.

I love it.

GossipMonger · 29/03/2009 17:05

bit more pricey but stunning!

Nontoxic · 29/03/2009 18:46

LT, I'd say you're sorted with either of those - depends which colour suits you best.

monkeysmama · 29/03/2009 20:11

I really like the chocolate dress. I am sure a smart brown shrug or pashmina would cover you enough?

LaTrucha · 29/03/2009 20:14

All good ideas.

I like the idea of feeding vest and another top or dressy shrug.

I like the chocolate dress but is a bit more than I want to spend (maybe).

My current bf dress is dark blue, and while that dress is nice, I feel like something that feels new IYSWIM.

Just wondered if you'd seen this. Some of the stuff almost made me wish I was having another baby ...

tassisssss · 30/03/2009 21:23

much sympathy OP. i have been pregnant or breastfeeding for weddings the past 3 summers...this is my year to get a great wedding outfit!

tassisssss · 30/03/2009 21:27

What I've done the past 2 summers is get a fab monsoon skirt that I love and know I'll wear loads and just wear a plain-ish top with it.

I love this skirt here

LaTrucha · 30/03/2009 21:49

I'm going to see if any of those dresses are for bf.

Fancy skiry and plain top a good idea too.

What do you think of this top?

It's a bit difficlut to work out which of those dresses you can bf in. Or am I being dim?
