Non-slip hair slides (for children)

My daughter, aged 2.6, has always been a little bit bald to be frank. Now that her hair is finally growing, she hates the front bit getting in her eyes, but she just hasn't got enough of it to cut it in a style with a fringe. Can anyone recommend some hair slides that are really really non-slip and suitable for v v fine flyaway hair?

I've tried Monsoon and Accessorize but they just slip right out again and her hair's just not long enough for any kind of hairband.

You need these

There are lots on ebay.com, just search for no slippy hair clippy

Horton · 27/03/2009 21:30

Oh, thanks so much. Will have a look and get some. DD would thank you too, if she knew!

can you get these clips in the uk? The postage is v expensive.

sleepsforwimps · 01/04/2009 12:28

I get my dd's clips from here

blametheparents · 01/04/2009 12:39

I have got some heart shaped clips for DD from Hennes, they are £1.50 for 6 and come in a selection of pinks, a selection of purples and a selection of brights. I have no idea why, but they are the best clips I have had for DD (she has very fine hair too). They don't slip and for some reason we don't seem to lose them! They are shaped like an open heart shape, iyswim.

mumof2andabit · 01/04/2009 13:46

Would the ones from hennes be suitable for 1yr old?

blametheparents · 01/04/2009 13:50

Yes, I think so. They are normal hair slide size, not those mini ones. Also, style is not too grown up, they are quite cute. My DD is 3 and they look lovely on her

Mumsnut · 01/04/2009 21:04

Wind a tiny elastic band over the clip bit - then they all stay put.

Horton · 02/04/2009 13:44

Hennes sounds like a nice cheap option! And the elastic band is a genius idea. Thanks!

I have some from hennes, they were an open oblong shape, and they don't fall out either! Their daisy flower ones are good too.

www.LilSugarplum.com

It only costs a couple of bucks to ship to the UK.

cute stuff, they even have some celebrities wearing their clips on their press page.

i'm going to order. Thanks for the link!

Just wanted to say I've bought my first No Slippy Hair Clippy and it's bloody wonderful. Stays in, looks great and is really light so no pulling on hair and DD loves wearing it. About to buy five more. Sod the expense. It's a hundred times better than any other clip I have tried.

I heard no slippy uses a magnet and i don't want that on my baby's brain.

use two clipped across each other.

Horton · 14/04/2009 23:11

"I heard no slippy uses a magnet and i don't want that on my baby's brain."

Er, no offence, but why on earth not? What do you think it will do?

Christiana, that sounds v cute but my DD hasn't enough hair to cut in any kind of style without just making her look like a hairless boy. She just wants the wispy bits out of her eyes. I can see her point, really!

Also, christiana, your DD has one of those gorgeous cute fine-boned faces that I can see really suiting an elfin cut. My DD, for example, while equally gorgeous tends more towards the bruiser and I doubt her name and the word "elfin" will ever be employed in the same sentence (unless the words "isn't the least bit" also feature)...

Horton ---Small risk but magnet creates electromagnet radiation.

I also buy from www.lilsugarplum.com Love them!

Try goldelox, slides especially for babies. Just put in baby hair slides into net, the are amasing. Been in vogue.

OscarandAmeliesMum · 19/08/2014 16:56

Try Posiebows.com tasteful clips and headbands and they don't fall out.
