How much does hair grow each month?

I have stupidly had my hair cut recently, and since then I've been obsessed with getting it longer again!

How many cm/inches does it grow per month? Obviously just a rough idea...

I had mine cut and coloured this morning, last time I had it coloured was 8 weeks ago and my roots were just over an inch in length if that helps? I'd guess 1.5cm a month.

1/2 an inch a month apparently.

Yes, I think that's about right for me too - when I have it cut every 3 or so months, she cuts off a good 2 inches.

I bet you weren't as stupid as me, I cut mine from below shoulder length, to a very, very, very short crop a la v beckham. I liked it for about a week and have hated it ever since. That was last July, It is now a short bob, and I'm hoping it will be nice again by summer. I have spent the last 8 months going 'what was I thinking?????' every time I look in the mirror

I did that two years ago and have only just got to the point where it is long again.

For nights out I bought clip in real hair extensions, took them to the hairdresser and had them numbered, dyed and cut in with my own hair by the hairdresser. After that I just had to put the right number in the right place and voila - long hair in an instant.
