have decided that i need to stop buying rubbish clothes that dont suit me and want to invest in a few 'timeless' items that will be versatile, capsule wardrobe i think is the term. can anyone advise me of any websites/ designers etc. i am tall and overweight (size 16), but trying to be thinner!

netaporter

Good range - from the heartbreakingly expensive to the not too bad.

How old are you? What sort of style and budget?

i am 35, havent really got a budget, just thought i could buy 1 or 2 items a month, £200 would be the most i would spend on anything and it would have to be perfect. i dont know what style i ilke, have been in jeans and jumpers for about 5 years, and lots of black ,would like to get away from that. smart/casual.

There is plenty on a netaporter in that range. High end high street may be worth a visit as well - Jigsaw/Reiss/Karen Millen. You could get a feel for what you like then.

The other idea would be to go to Harvey Nicks/John Lewis and try their personal shopper service. They could get you to try loads of things on and you could get a better feel for what suits you before splashing out.
